Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony

DSC00522

It’s always a treat to watch Doug Bakenhus conduct the talented Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony Orchestra. It’s fun to sit close so you can see his expressions and gestures. Last night we heard (most of) the three suites of Handel’s Wassermusik and Haydn’s Symphony No. 88. His assistants Lincoln Hall and Mario Torres conducted three pieces by Wagner from “Tannhäuser” The crowd was down, because of some bad weather, but it was their loss, because it was a terrifically played program.    Click image to see it larger
