A Department of Transportation Engineer drove across the Church Street Bridge this week, and felt a bump in the road. He stopped and checked it and saw one part of the span was more than an inch lower than the rest. He ordered the bridge closed until repairs could be made. The easy trip from house to work has changed from six minutes to twenty.
